I was really nervous when we decided to go on vacation without our 4 month old and about the fact that I would need to juggle pumping.
First off we flew with Delta. It was a 2 hour flight.
I packed a ‘pump bag’. My pump, bottles, pump parts, storage bags, cooler, and freezer packs. This does NOT count as your carry on because its a medical device. When going through airport security you do need to remove the pump from the bag and let them know you have it.
I did not pump on the plane, but if I was going to I was going to do it right in my seat covered with a blanket.
For traveling home with the 90oz of breastmilk that I pumped while gone, i put it all in a cooler inside of our luggage. You can have an unlimited amount of liquids in your checked luggage. It was only a 2 hour flight so I didnt need to worry about the milk defrosting on the way home.
It turned out to be a lot easier to travel while pumping than I thought! The hardest part was planning when to pump while I was trying to enjoy my vacation. But thats just one of a sacrafices!
